She’s the business

So this week has been jam packed! First week back to full time work since 2009 so that has been a big shock to the system.

Luckily as I’m only doing supply I managed to take the Wednesday off to spend a fantastic day at the University of Manchester. It was a full day of meeting other like minded women, mainly mum’s who are developing their own businesses. The day was sponsored by Soap and Glory and featured amazing women who had started their own businesses from around their own kitchen tables. Braid Bar, Tots to Travel and Jonny’s Sister to name but a few. It was a day full of inspiration, training and network all for free.

It has boosted my enthusiasm for my new project no end. I have been continuing to doodle and also teaching myself how to digitise and vectorise my work to make it easier to print. It is a steep learning curve but I am determined to make my calligraphy business work. If Wednesday taught me anything it’s that I can achieve anything that I want to as long as I am focussed and determined!

This week is set to be another busy one. Full time supply teaching, an evening with Not on the Highstreet back at the University and a digital event at the amazing Fred Aldous in the NQ. Doodles and digitalisation to continue alongside this (oh and looking after the boys!) I can’t wait!
